Dr. Turgeau is married with three children. He was a registered nurse for seven years before pursuing a career in dentistry.

Dr. Turgeau completed his dental training at Louisiana State University with honors, and is a member of the C. Edmund Kell's Dental Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He completed his post-doctoral residency in orthodontics in Jacksonville, Florida with honors, receiving a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and a member of the American Association of Orthodontics. He is one of the few orthodontists in the country who surgically implants temporary anchorage devices, when needed, in orthodontic care. Dr. Turgeau is currently the president of the Jacksonville University Orthodontic Alumni Association.
