Michael P. Turgeau, DDS, CAGS
In our practice we try to exceed our patient's expectations. I want people to smile with pride and think to themselves, "Wow! I look great!" Creating beautiful smiles is our goal at Turgeau Orthodontics. We take pride in providing quality, state of the art orthodontic care to the Southeastern Louisiana and South Mississippi areas.
Education and Continuing Education
A native of Metairie and graduate of Grace King High School, 1987, I now live in Ponchatoula with my wife, Brenda and our five children. After graduating from high school, I attended LSU and the University of New Orleans where I received a bachelor's degree in science. I attended the LSU School of Dentistry graduating with honors, including membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society and the C. Edmund Kells Honor Society. I then, received my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics from Jacksonville University in July 2007.
Even though my formal education is complete, I believe that we should always better ourselves to provide the best care possible to our patients. To give the best orthodontic care possible, I attend numerous hours of continuing education yearly to advance myself in the field of orthodontics. Through continuing education, I am able to keep up with the latest advances in orthodontics. I am an active member in many organizations including the American Association of Orthodontics, North Shore Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
As an active member of these organizations, I regularly attend seminars that provide me with the knowledge I need to bring the best care possible to my patients. Through progressive education, I have recently incorporated LASER treatment of the gingiva into my practice, the use of Botox to help treat muscles dysfunction/TMJ and micro implant placement to facilitate better orthodontic movement.
I feel it is important to remain involved within our community. I was an active board member for TARC for five years and am a certified advocate for children with disabilities in the state of Louisiana, completing the Partners in Policy Making course in Baton Rouge. I am actively involved with my children's school, St. Thomas Aquinas and Special Olympics of Louisiana.
Brenda and I enoy living in Ponchatoula with Gaby, Maddie, Milan, Camron and Alex. We love watching Saints football and LSU sports. Our family activities include: four wheeling, swimming, cooking and traveling.
